BBbUn
Anybody know where in the Chiang Mai area one can get some decent wind to fly a power kite? We have one of those foil kites.
JimShortz
Be careful telling Thai friends that you are off to fly a kite - it means something else entirely in Thai! To give you a clue... think of the hand/arm action required in order to try and keep a kite in the air in low wind conditions!
jackr
How about that big parking area between Canal Road and Nimbleheadman?

Paagai
I'd try the Park off Nimanheminda Road near the CMU buildings.
LJW
Where are there any sustained wind places in Chiang Mai?
JuniorExPat
Where are there any sustained wind places in Chiang Mai? ThaiVisa.com? Seems to be plenty of hot air around here these days. What about Huay Tung Tao, would there be enough space around there? Not sure how much wind gets in there though. What's a foil kite? Is it something I need to know about before the children start asking for one?! JxP Edited June 18, 2010 by JuniorExPat

JxP Huay Thung Tao doesn't ever get any sustained winds, it is too close to the mountains I think
