I am currently searching the net for information about vacancies for a Roustabout or other entry level positions on an offshore gas/oil rig.

Others will come and tell you its almost impossible now. They hire locals for those things not foreigners.

Hi,

There are plenty agencies around that employ for the offshore industry. However if you are going in at entry level it would be very difficult to get a job over seas. Most entry level employment would be offshore your home country. The guys who work offshore over seas are generally in a supervisory position.

Look for web sites of agencies in your home country for jobs, but do not expect to be working over seas for some time.

Sorry for not being to helpful, but this is how it is in this industry.

What Fatdog said and more likely you'll only get a start on a rig if you know someone already on a rig that is prepared to recommend you.

If you have thoughts about offshore Thailand or SEA, forget about it......Even knowing "somebody" offshore Thailand will not get you a job offshore as a Roustabout, as this is a "restricted" position now.....WP's will not be issued by the DMF for a Farang.

You dont say where you are from, but if from the UK, you need to start in the North Sea or if US, gulf of Mexico....

Highly unlikely you will get a start on the international front as a Roustabout anywhere these days locals only...

1.3 Master's Degree NOT over 28 years of AGE

2.1 Certificate and Diploma in Technical Program must hold a minimum GPA of 3.00

2.2 Bachelor's Degree must hold a minimum GPA of 3.00 Except for Bachelor's Degree in Engineering must hold a minimum GPA of 2.70

2.3 Master's Degree and Doctor's Degree must comply with 2.2

3. English Score

Applicants must achieve th following minimum TOEIC scores :

3.1 Major in Engineering : Bachelor's Degree at least 550:

Master's Degree at least 600

3.2 Other major: Bachelor's Degree at least 600: Master's Degree at least 700

You have missed the biggest qualification of them all for PTT group.....Thai Nationality...

And seeing as this is PTT group, this is shorebased and not offshore and finally the OP is looking for a Roustabouts position and basically the only qualification you need is the ability to walk and chew gum at the same time...

All this brings it nicely back to "what can you do in Thailand", the answer is unless you have money to plough into some Franchise with someone you trust, buy and rent condos, trade stocks, teach English (needs degree legally) etc your'e stuffed.........of course you may get lucky, many don't.
