June 23, 200521 yr Hello; Can someone please explain this to me. I was told by immigration here in phuket that farang kids UNDER the age of 12 do NOT need visas to enter /stay in thailand. Ie they can come in and receive a 30 day visa and then stay as long as they wish and then leave with no fines. Then I just read this here. http://www.thaivisa.com/303.0.html "The maximum overstay fine in Thailand is 20,000 baht (approx US$450). Foreign children are subject to fines for overstaying in Thailand only when over the age of seven" Which is it?? so kids UNDER 7 do not need visa but 7-12 do? thanks
June 23, 200521 yr Author farangs with both farang parents its my friends kids and they are Candian/Australian. But it should be the same for all, shouldn't it? That's what immigration said as long as they are entiiled to a 30 day visa on admitance.
June 24, 200521 yr As is so often the case, things are unclear. I recently heard that overstay was applied to a 4 year old Aussie child ( at Don Muang )
