Best Way From Udon To Samui

Featured Replies

is there a flight i can get from udon or khon kaen to samui ? whats the best way to go ? taking wife and baby, thanks

Flying you would have to go Udon-BKK and transfer to bangkok airways or thai airways to Samui from BKK.Not a cheap way to travel but more convenient with your family. You would be on Samui in a couple of hours.

Thai Air has 3 x daily flights Udon to Bangkok and a single daily flight from Bangkok to Samui. Layovers may be tight or long but you wouldn't have to worry about rechecking bags.

Or you could take the AirAsia non-stop Udon to Phuket and then catch a Bangkok Air hopper to Samui as that is well served with 3 x daily flights. That option may be cheaper but you (or the wife) will need to manhandle the bags at the transfer point.

Cheapest way if you want to fly-drive is to fly Udon-Phuket and rent a car. You'd have to sleep either Phuket or Surat Thani because the Udon-Phuket flight leaves around 5pm.

Flying into Samui is really expensive. I flew there from Udon recently and the return ticket cost 24,000 baht!! If there's 3 of you it works out expensive, well over £1000!!!
