Back again with more problems.Further to my last post re visa from the uk.

I am a british citizen sat waiting for my passport to be returned from the indian embassy,i fly to India on 30th July then on to Thailand.If i do not have time to go to Thai Embassy in Hull can i apply for an O type visa from Thai Embassy in Mumbai or do i have to do from my country of origin (United Kingdom).

The consulates in India are not the most friendly, but you don't need to apply in your own country.

Note that they will not issue a non- based on visiting friends, but for marriage or retirement it shoud be OK.

Unless you and wife are over age 50 do not believe your chance of a non immigrant O visa is very likely and it would only provide a 90 day stay as am sure you would not obtain a multi entry (unless your friend is well known/connected and with you).

You should have plenty of time to apply at the Consulate in Hull.

You can apply by post. It takes less than a week.

Why is your Indian Visa taking so long?

I have applied in person at the Indian Embassy in London and come away within a few hours.
