I have about 2,500 baht in one and five baht coins (accumulated change over the year). How are these best returned to my bank for paper notes? In the U.S. I would get paper coin roll wrappers from my bank and then return the assembled rolls. Do they use rolls like that here in Thailand? If so are they available from my bank?

Best bet is your local 7-Eleven. They are always happy to get change.

Forget complex transactions like this with banks. :o

Have you considered asking your bank these questions?

Beauty. I can see the blank stares and hear the, "Ah-lai-wa?" Just drop a few into beggars' cups now and then. Problem solved.

It's not that many coins. 3-400 I guess.

Whenever you go out, leave a tip in coins. If you drive a car pay your toll fees

by those coins.

Buy small items, newspapers, cigarettes, whatever.

You will be surprised how fast your furtune is gone... :o

My wife tapes up rolls of coins and sells them to the food shops around our mooban, they're always happy to buy it from you.

No blank stares at the bank (Bangkok Bank). They require 1 and 5 baht coins bagged in 100 baht lots, and deposited into my account. I did that today without a problem. I''ll be more careful about accumulating so much change in the future.
