Hi!

Just planned a safari trip to Egypt by overland from Bahrain, right now just no good fares to Egypt from BKK.:(

I'm wondering about relevant red tape, espacially Kindom of Saudi arabia, it seems no Visa on arrival, How about saudi transit visa ? is it possble to obtain it at border crossing?if no possibilities to get transit visa at border ,does Saudi embassy in Bangkok issue transit visa ?

You can't get a visa for Saudi at the border, you have to obtain it from an Embassy in advance.

You will need a visa for the country that you will be arriving in AFTER Saudi (I assume Jordan and not Iraq?) whether or not your nationality is required to have one.

Don't tell them that you are travelling overland to Egypt if this means you will have to pass through Israel to get there.

checked with the embassador, Jordan visa on arrival, no problem at all..

certainly won't pass isreal...no need, and it's dangerous.

anybody has experiences of obtaning Saudia transit  visa in BKK?complicated ?Burueacratic still?

I Take it you're in Bangkok and will fly to Jordan then go overland to Egypt? We may go to Cairo next month. Cheapest ticket I have found is on Egypt Air for B26,000.

I worked and lived in Saudi Arabia for many years and what you are asking for is next to impossible, not saying that it could not happen but the odds are slim to none and I'll take the none.

I've done it myself before and it's no hassle to get the Saudi visa but the OP won't get the visa if he doesn't listen to advice.

I'll repeat.

Yes Jordan is visa on arrival but the Saudi Embassy will require you to have a visa for Jordan before they will issue you with a visa to cross their country.

Also, according to my Google Earth there is no way to go overland from Jordan to Egypt without passing through Israel. Are you planning to go by boat from Jordan?

You can get a boat from Yanbu in Saudi over to Egypt but the Saudis will probably want you to have a visa for Egypt before they let you on, I've had hassle with them over that before but they eventually let me board just minutes before the flight was due to close.

of course no one like isrel stamp although passing isrel 2 egypt is cheap and quicker

e-visa 2 jordan/bahrain can be applied online..if Saudia ambassador do bother to drop troubles futrther, of courese they find self-satisfications by bullying lower class thai/OFW, etc...

ferry between Aqaba/ Nuweiba, won't ask egyupt visa in advance , Egypt visa on arrival 're encorouged to travellers as there's more money to be made for all officers in both side...they can use those cash levied for daily spending spree without handing back to egypt central banks....

yanbu ferry is less frenquent, once a week

donn't think they'll trouble u but guess you never made a ferry trip 2 egypt via yanbu ferry. your experince for visa advance was the direct effect of saudia airport rules, specifically your flight carrier's rudeness or they obey the secret rules from isrel/us...by the way which airline is it ? could you clarify?awkward BA/air france/yankee airlines?

why your flight handler allowed you boarding at last minute? because they're in fear of you making official compaits against them, tarnishing their dirty image in independent media like thaivisa forum, also finally they 've got compensate you finacially either in court or outside court.....or they've secrets to hide away

in camparison to thailand,Eqypt 's less corrupted in some degree somehow...at least they won't force intl.visitors conuting their money in cash for granting Visa on arrival, which 's usual routine HARASSMENT IN NOTOURIOUS BKK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT CARRIED BY THAI IMMIGRATIONS, PLUS NONG KHAI/THAI-CAMBODIA LAND BORDDR CROSSING THAI BORDER POLICE...FURTHER MORE CURRENT THAI GOVERMENT SINCE THAKSIN ERA TO ADHISH BARELY OBEY GENEVA CONVENTIONS ON REFUGEES AND CONTRIBUTE JUST MINIMUM ALMOST NO EXISTANT HUMANITARIAN AID TO REFUGEES BESIDES PERSECUTIONS PLUS EXPELLING...

He's intending to travel to Aqaba by crossing Saudi.

What route will you be taking to get to Aqaba?

I went across the TAP Line Road that runs straight into Amman and turned left as at the time crossing of the Saudi / Jordan border at the Aqaba / Haql immigration control was not allowed for foreigners, only Saudi / Jordanian passport holders.

The ferry from Jeddah might be more frequent?

The airline was Saudia.

I even had Saudi Immigration 'phone and fax Cairo airport immigration to confirm that no visa is required but they didn't answer.

They didn't learn by their mistake as a month later my boss had exactly the same problem with them.

When are you intending to travel?

Be aware that most of August will be Ramadan and you won't be allowed to eat, drink, smoke or have sex during daylight hours while travelling through Saudi.
