7 month old child held at gunpoint during convenience store robbery in Jomtien

PATTAYA: -- Late on Sunday Night, a disturbing case of armed robbery occurred at a small, family-run, convenience store located in Soi Jurarak off the Tepprasit Road in Jomtien. The owner of the store is Khun Nipon aged 66 who was preparing to close the store and made his way to the back of the store to prepare some food when 5 men on two motorbikes, pulled up outside the store and one of the men, with his face concealed with a helmet and visor, entered the store and grabbed Khun Nipon’s 7 month old granddaughter, and held a gun to the child’s head. He demanded payment of 10,000 Baht or he would kill the child.

A terrible ordeal to go through. The most frightening aspect is there was absolutely no reason for shots to be fired as they'd got the money. These people are obviously extremely dangerous, let's hope they are caught quickly and locked up for a lengthy stretch.

Five clowns to stick-up a corner store. Pointing a gun at an infant. They baaaaadddd!

What I fail to grasp is why these robberies that involve stealing cell phones don't get followed up by the cops. Eg, call the number of the stolen phone.

bendejo can tell you never had you mobile stolen - it's turned off immediately - taken to a pawn shop and sold on.

Only seen it once where a child was held hostage at knife point by a stoned guy. Think he survived the kicking he got when the police managed to get the knife off him, police didn't put much effort into protecting him from the mob :whistling:
