June 29, 201016 yr I have a 1 year multiple entry Non Immigrant ED visa issued by my home country. I spoke to the language school and they gave me some strange answers so I'm a bit confused. Do I need to report to immigration every 90 days? (I'm assuming no because I'm not staying longer than 90 days at a time. On the other hand, I know they are quizzing or speaking in Thai to ED visa holders. But I thought this is for people staying more than 90 days at a time in the country) At the end of my 1 year visa can I start doing the 1900 baht 90 day extensions like you would the single entry 90 day visa? (As long as I'm studying 4 hours a week). If so, what are the chances of getting it extended for 1 year instead of 90 days? And if it's extended like this, is it still multiple entry or do I need to start obtaining reentry permits to leave Thailand? I don't plan on this but - Now that I have this 1 year visa, what happens if I stop attending school? Is it still valid for a year? Some questions I had that were already answered by searching the forum: Before the 1 year is up, can I do a visa run and return before it expires to add another 90 days, so I'd have up to 15 months on this visa? Answer: Yes Do I need to extend my visa every 90 days? (I plan on doing border runs. I know this is a silly question but the school thinks I have to pay 1900 every 90 days which is odd. I'm assuming NO because it's a 1 year multiple, and my stamp is for 90 days which means I do a visa run and not an extension). Answer: No need to extend during the 1 year but must do visa runs, from reading here http://www.thaivisa....ed-but-confused Edited June 29, 201016 yr by TheTraveler
June 29, 201016 yr No you do not report to Immigration if using 90 day entry. Yes you should be able to extend near end of any 90 day entry if school/paperwork is accepted. For travel on extensions you would need re-entry permit to keep stay alive. Yes the visa remains valid.
