What Qualifies For A Non-immigrant B Visa?

Featured Replies

I will be traveling to Thailand (from USA) in October to take the TEFL Int'l certification course. I intend to stay and find a teaching job after the course, but I will not have a job prior my arrival in Thailand. Can I apply for a Non-Imm B VISA, or is there no chance without a letter from an employer?

On the Thai embassy website, I got the impression that students are eligible for Non-Imm B... but I have a feeling that doing the month long TEFL course doesn't qualify me as a student?

Thanks so much in advance for any input!!

Best,

Jamie

You are not going to obtain a non immigrant B visa without paperwork. As for the school you should ask them. In any case it is not a problem to obtain the correct visa after you find employment and have the papers; either with a trip to Penang or other Consulate or perhaps by conversion of a 60 day tourist visa by immigration.

What about the RTCG Houston Lop ?  Toughened up ?

I don't believe any will issue a B visa without a letter. The O type is a little less strict. But I could be wrong; again; today. :o

TEFL Int. should and will need to help you to obtain one, a simple letter from them will suffice (although it depends where you apply).

Lop you're not wrong they need something for a Non-imm B.
