July 4, 201016 yr I'll be living a couple months in Ubon starting in August and am slightly concerned about the air quality. I've lived extended periods like that in Cambodia and I adapted, but I always felt a little less-than-perfect the whole time... mind you I come from the cold, sterile Pacific Northwest where the air is pristine and we hardly get above 21 C. I was wondering if any of you use air filters, dehumidifiers or other such things to make the interior of your home more like your native homelands? We haven't installed an airconditioner yet, perhaps there are advanced versions of them that contain all those devices available in Ubon? Also on that point, air conditioner air seems to irritate a lot of people, is that just from an unclean filter?
July 5, 201016 yr The moisture destroys our electronic in the production machines. the dirt on the airconditions, but also on fans if not cleaned regularly is bad for people with allergic. Our Aircon has some options to clean air, but it does not make much difference I think.
July 13, 201015 yr Hi,Recently I was in Makro in Ubon, browsing air con units. There was a promo on portable units, able to be moved from room to room if required. I could not get any info from the staff and my wife was not with me.There was no brochure. It looked more like a dehumidifier to me,the display unit was not connected?&^%$%$#@ so hard to get information.Sorry I forgot the brand, but this was about a week back. Maybe someone knows these units and can help, or maybe you could drop in and check them out,and post your info.Tks Vince

The one I had, had a flexable exhaust hose to put out of a window or door, a bit like a tumble drier, in the UK anyway. Unless you plumb the waste water away, you have to empty the water tank after about 7 hours in your living in high humidity.
