Folks - Ive been through the embassy websites and can't find info on what the following actually means:

Evidence that your sponsor is settled in the UK. (This can be a copy of their passport or registration certificate that has been confirmed as a true copy, in other words 'certified').

Any ideas how I get my passport copy 'certified'?

Thanks again

This topic has been covered a few times I think.

You can certify it yourself by writing on the copy "I certify that this is a true copy of the original" signing it and dating it.

Some will say you only need to sign and date it but I went the extra mile just in case.

Another wise precaution, always better to be safe than sorry, is to copy and certify every page in your passport, not the blank ones though.

you can take your passport to a solicitor who will photocopy everypage with stamps and your data page. They will sign every page and verify this as a legal copy ! Plus include a letter headed from the solicitor confirming this !

Self certification is certainly acceptable.

Remember to include all pages with Thai entrance and/or exit stamps on them. I think it's a good idea to include all the pages, even the blank ones (to show that they are blank); but that's a personal choice.

What does 'present and settled' mean?

‘Settled’ means being allowed to live in the UK lawfully, with no time limit on your stay. 'Present and settled' means that the person concerned is settled in the UK and, at the time we are considering your application under the Immigration Rules, is in the UK or is coming here with you, or to join you and plans to live with you in the UK if your application is successful

What does 'present and settled' mean?

Just photo copy your passport . you will see there is a water mark , it cannot be seen with the naked eye, Just sign it yourself with the date.
