Withdraw From Atm In Europe With Thai Card

Recommended Posts

I am going to Europe for a few weeks, I have saving accounts with kasikorn and scb.

Can I use my debit card from those thai banks to withdraw from european atm's?

Or I am better off making an exchange in the airport? Local banks refuse to give me euros without me showing a plane ticket.

Just curious why the local banks would not want to sell Euros to you.  Did they say why?<br>

I think he mentioned that they want to see a plane ticket.

But I have had absolutely no problem in getting GBP's, USD's, EUR's, SGD's and AUD's from my local banks over the last few years. Sometimes have to wait a few days though. They ask why and I just say I'm travelling around, they have never wanted to see proof.

I have had no problem using my Kasikorn atm to withdraw cash and make purchases in the UK and mainland Europe, not sure about the fees but I remember thinking at the time they were reasonable..

I have always got Euros, GB Pounds and US Dollars on demand at Suvarnabhumi, not sure what the air ticket requirement was, suspect is was a rule made up on the hoof.
