Nokia Gprs To Pc

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I'm setting up a gprs connection to a pc for a friend for the first time, using his Nokia 7610.

How to?

I'm using winxp. Will XP see the phone right away after connecting it with a usb cable? Or are the drivers included in the package? (haven't seen the phone yet)

DO you need special software?

If a call comes in while online over gprs does it disconnect you?

thanks

I may be able to help a little as I'm using a Nokia on GPRS right now. But no guarentee that all of this is correct.

Your GPRS connection will go on HOLD if an incoming call is detected then resume when you hang up.

I use both Bluetooth and IR without any special software so I have to assume that applies to a USB connection. You will have to configure your Connections option as for a normal landline thru the USB port.

Your dial up number will be *99***1# with no User Name or Password

You will have to configure your GPRS options in the phone, usually just "Internet" is the connection code.
