Alchohol Control Act Section 32 - dont drink before posting on TV.....as it generally results in people not knowing <deleted> you are talking about......:burp:

A PDF download of the Alcoholic Beverages Control Act B.E. 2551 (2008) translated version can be found on this ThaiLaws.com link

The BIB have been enforcing this in Kanchanaburi from last week. A number of the BIB's finest were out in force last weekend - harrassing some of the bars. Most of them seemed to have been let off with a warning, and told to coverr up the beer coolers - however one of the bars got slapped with a 50,000 fine. To be honest, the beer cooler advertising in bars is an absolute joke, but then no real surprise if you have lived here any length of time.

so if you remove the beer cooler advertising beer, you are left with a bottle showing the brand of the beer !!!

so under this law, are you allowed to have labels on the beer ?

My thoughts exactly, but The BIB were enforcing this last week in Kanchanburi - obviously setting it up, so they can extort some money from the bars in the near future. Apparently, they only fined one bar last weekend. I am sure Thailands "finest" will be back soon.

takes a little reading but makes sense when you do. interesting post as Thailand are currently in "discussion" with the WTO about their desire to require all alcohol to have health warning labels on them. is it anti free trade, not that it actually matters to Thailand what the WTO decides.
