I recieved an SMS from Bangkok Post a while ago. It asked me if I wanted to recieve breaking news for 39 Baht a month. I subscribed because it was during the Bangkok riots and it was usefull to get the latest updates on what was happening.

Now that there is nothing interesting for them to report on, they are sending me any old rubbish through. It is incessant, relentless boring "news" and it hits my phone so many times in one day that it feels like I am being stalked by them.

I went to the website for SMS news and it says "to unsubscribe *451390999..... What are you supposed to do with this? Send it as an SMS? Include the star? Try it with a hash at the end? Dial it? WHAT??? I tried all of the above and none of them worked.

Some of the crap they send me.... I have no idea who in there right mind would consider "breaking News" it litteraly sends me to sleep through sheer boredom.

Some recent news bits sent to me:

"Former PM Surayud Chulanot said Thailand will prosper if there are more good people. He called on youths to sacrafice and work together for the country"

Amazing. Former PM says Thailand can be a prosperous country if Thailand somehow 'has more good people. What a true intelectual and I am so pleased that I was woke at 6.30am to be alerted to this mans genius.

"Sombat Boonngamanong, editor of lai Jud newspaper, who was just released on bail, afirmed he will tie red cloth at Ratchaprasong intersection on Sunday"

Wow! Did he realy 'afirm" that! Oh my God! Has anyone alerted the global media? Some bloke from some newspaper is tying a red cloth around a lamp post on Sunday! Shall we all head to Bangkok and take photo's of this historic event?

"PAD lawyyer asks EC's political party registar to check if UDD leader korkeaw pikulthong is qualified to run in the July 25 by election in Bangkok"

Im glad this was brought to my attention as it gives me and the lads something to talk about down Soi Cowboy this evening. I just hope the music in Tilac bar isnt too loud as it will be a joy to discuss this alarming news in detail"

Do you know what I mean? Its the most dreary, boring stuff and its served up a dozen times a day. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to unsubscribe from this?

Unsubscribe seems to be different depending upon your provider, ensure you're using the correct process and are unsubscribing from the correct service.

Look here http://www.bangkokpost.com/ads/postnews/eng.html

Most seem to be 'dial *xxxxxxxxxxx' then press send.

*451390999 seems to be unsubscribe from a Thai language SMS service on an AIS phone.
