Non Ed Visa

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, looking for some information. My son has a Non ED visa in Thailand as he has studied here for the past 6 years. Anyway, he is changing from one college to another and his Non Ed is current and doesn't expire till November 2010, so I have paid the tuition fees for the new college and they have received approval for my son to study from the Ministry of Education in Bangkok. The new college are now saying he has to exit the country to obtain a Non ED visa. This is where I get confused.

I want to know if anyone has managed to change their Non ED from one institution to another without having to miss 3 days of classes which is ridiculous as he already has a visa in his passport. I have called the Immigration and the Ministry of Education who both said they don't think he should have to leave but are not sure, so I'm kind of at a loss at the moment.

Any guidance would be greatfully received.

Many thanks....

Believe an ED visa/extension is issued for a specific school and a change would require a new visa/entry. But if you have the paperwork on last day of first school you could make an attempt to extend for second school (the worst they can say is no) and then he could make the new visa run with the paperwork.
