Today on Rama 4 I was in rush hour traffic and had a looney behind me. Everytime I stopped he would be so close that he would have to slam the brakes on and would skid, stopping inches away from my car!

He did it three times. So the third time I lost it and just stopped my car and put the hazards on. Making him have to reverse and go around me. If I could of changed lane I would have. But like I said it was morning rush hour.

I was even keeping more if a distance than normal so I could stop as slow as possible giving this Pratt all the warning possible so he didn't have to nearly skid into the back of me.

You would have though after the first near miss he would of held back after that. What an idiot!

I thought your reaction was calm and thoughtful in what was obviously a pretty stressful situation.

Absolutely, you did the correct thing, pull over and let the loony go in front. I do the same, slow down, stop if necessary and let them pass, avoid the conflict.

They way they repair things here and that includes brakes, I wouldn't at all be surprised if he only had front brakes or some other problem with them so best to let him run into someone else, but maybe not so much the other drivers fault as his mechanics..No telling what kind of issues he/she was having, maybe a soft peddle delaying their reaction, who knows? But certainly driving in the same traffic you were with no lane to change into even them increasing their distance between you wouldn't do much good being traffic is so unavoidably close during rush hours...

Have you double checked that your brake lights are working?

Well done for not getting out and belting him though. :)
