Hi I am out in BKK next week and we intend on applying for the settlement visa then, I am working hard here getting it all together! - BUT my ATM card wont let me take so much in a day mother + stepdaughter - bring english pounds and change into thai baht? - where would the best rate be do you guys think?

If your atm will not allow you to draw out sufficient you could, as you say, bring cash, or go into a bank and make an over the counter withdrawal, I think most banks will allow up to 100,000 Baht.

From your previous posts I see that you are talking about a UK application. They don't accept cash. See How to pay.

If you have a debit card, I'm sure that you can use that to purchase the necessary bank draft/cashiers cheque.

Get a bankers draft , it will cost you about 35baht, They will not except cash ,
