Just a quick question. My English friend has a 1 year non '0' that runs out next January 2011 but her 3 months is up at the end of this month (July 2010). She is leaving to go back to England on 14th August. Is it possible to get a 2 week extension at the Samui immigration or will she have to do a border run.Thanks.

She must exit the country and return. Not more than 7 days would be available from Immigration unless they qualify for Thai husband/child visit or such. If they do a 60 day extension could be obtained.

Thanks for that.....She does have a Thai/ English baby but he was born in England and she hasn't sorted out a Thai birth certificate yet so it looks like she'll be going on a border run with Mr Kim.......

She'll need to get the Thai birth certificate at the Thai Embassy where the baby was born.

With that she can apply for the Thai passport, usually at the same time. It may be that both parents may need to be there.

Once the baby has the Thai passport, they should enter and exit Thailand on it.
