Changing Sterling Cash/Travellers Cheques While Travelling In North East And Northern Thailand

Featured Replies

We're travelling to Thailand in a few weeks and I wasn't sure how easy it is to change UK Sterling cash or travellers cheques to Baht in certain places. In particular Khao Yai/Pak chong, Khon Kaen, Nong Khai and Nan. What about in smaller towns e.g. Chiang Khan? Is it just a question of going to any bank with my passport?

Thanks,

John

Go to any bank with your passport and you should have no problem.

yeah with passport get all the time

Thanks.

Will the rates in the smaller towns be similar to the main tourist centres (i.e. Bangkok or Chiang Mai)?

I've changed them before in Isaan with no problem. The rates for a particular bank should be the same regardless of its location.
