craighj
A quick one for you, anyone heard that an hotel elevator fell 10 floors in Pattaya just within the last 30 minutes? Craiag
chickenslegs
It fell 10 floors in 30 minutes? That's the slowest elevator I've ever heard of.
Moonrakers
It fell 10 floors in 30 minutes? That's the slowest elevator I've ever heard of. It probably fell lightly slower than it went up. But yes, it was on the news. Luckily nobody was inside at the time.
geriatrickid
Did it really fall? Or did it just descend rapidly with the governors and safety mechanisms doing their job? A faster than normal descent with an abrupt stop. Short of all cables being sheared and the braking mechanisms not working, cable elevators just don't plummet like that. I don't think Thailand has too many hydraulic system elevators. I'm sure if it happened, the PDN will be there fast to get us some pictures of crushed bodies, with the blurs over the faces .
