GM1955
I have a Condo just off Long Beach, Wong Amat, Pattaya. The trade off with having fantastic sea views is the wind coming off the sea and blowing through the sliding doors creating a he-ll of a whine at times, daytime is no problem as I use the wind power instead of Air Con or Fan, but at night it can disrupt sleep and I like A/C at night. I have the white aluminim sliding doors already, but they are not a tight fit, anyone else solved this problem ? I used to live on the Seafront in UK too and had a similar problem, the wind was so strong at times it could find its way through the seals and it was like badly tuned Bagpipes being played by a very bad Bagpipe player. Any advice/recommendations for the Pattaya area appreciated.
Hssl
If you want really good sound insulation from the outside world get UPVC casement doors
Crossy
HomePro have various sizes and profiles of self-adhesive rubber and felt sealing strip which may give you relief. Much depends on where the gap is, how accessible it is (may have to remove the door) and whether there is a sliding motion which could pull the strip off
bankruatsteve
My friends in Florida use a tarp that rolls down over the door during really rainy/windy times. A bit of a bother b/c you have to fasten in down from the outside. Edited July 29, 2010 by bankruatsteve
