Have added pages already one time to my USA passport in BKK, need more already. The Pasport is valid until 2017....

question is...

can i get pages added a second time takes 1 hour or do i need to apply for new passport takes two weeks???

also??

can I Travel by air back to Phuket with out a passport??? to wait for new passport ??

only picture ID i have is company id card and copy of passport....????

A quick call to the embassy would answer your first question straight from the horses mouth . I do not think you need a passport for internal air travel .

Yes. Limit, two times. I think you need a year left in your passport validity. Should be as quick as before but now costs money!

You can just stop by the US embassy in Bangkok and add pages. A second time is not a problem. When I did it they said it would take an hour, but for some reason they returned it in about 30 minutes. It depends on how busy they are.

Check to make sure there are no upcoming holidays where the embassy might be closed.

I wentto get new pages on the last day for it to be free. As they were pretty busy, they asked if I could come back the next day and pick it up. Sent the driver and a note saying it was ok for him to pickup the next day.

1. Yes you can obtain a second set of pages but as said there is a high cost now.

2. Yes you can fly with photo ID but it would not be required as passport is not taken by US Embassy to obtain new passport.

I got pages and found out i could get a new passport for the same price . I always ask for as many pages as I can get my last one was 48 pages , I was told you could get 72 but have not ask about it.

Strange, maybe these are relatively new rules, because I have about 5 sets of extra pages in my passport, with the last one added only last year.

Maybe Bangkok WILL do it more than two times. It can't hurt to ask. Especially now with the high fees, they might be motivated to be of service!

I may soon have to buy a landing permit that will be valid for the life of the passport, so I was hoping I could get a new passport beforehand. I think you need a reason (passport fell in mud etc) for a renewal for a pp with several years on it yet, but don't know for sure.
