Bus Times Khon Kaen To Bkk

Hello, I am planning a journey from Ban Phai (or possibly Khon Kaen)to Bangkok mid July. I have managed to find the train timetable but nothing for the buses.

I would be grateful if anybody is aware of the time the buses depart KK and arrive BKK. I know BKK has a number of Bus terminals, which one services the north east of Thailand?

I am hoping to tie the BKK arrival time up with the Air Asia service to Phuket and hence avoid staying the night in BKK. So the arrival time in BKK would be most helpful. I am guessing the fare would be approx. 300 baht?

Thank you in anticipation. Jonnie

Hiya Jonnie...

I've only caught the bus from bangkok to Khon Kaen once I think, but here is what I know..

The ticket cost bt265 for VIP going from bus teminal at Mo Chit to Khon Kaen

That's it I'm afraid... but if memory serves me right the VIP buses run quite regulary from Khon Kaen to Bangkok.. I just can't remember any more..

Hopefully someon else will be more helpful

VIP I think is every hour and the Nakhon Chai every 20 min.

I have taken the VIP265 baht one and the NC302 one.

The 265 was more comfy, better seats but the 302 bus made far fewer stops and took about 1.5 hours less.

Just go to Morchit, you'll be on one or the other within an hour.

I agree the 265 baht one is more comfy, but the Nakhon Chai Air one has a built in back massager and I can get a better sleep at night.

BTW, NC has now put up it's fare to 330 baht.

Flying to KK from Bkk was a better option until Air Asia stopped their flights.

What about Flying to Udon Thani for 600 baht and then taking the bus to KK?
