Single Entry Non O, Locally

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, I'm in need of advice. I'm currently on a multi entry non O which is due to run out in October. I was due to return home at this point, but due to a change in circumstances I now need to stay a further 3 months. I take it a single entry non O is my best option, but where's the best place to obtain one in neighbouring countries and what documentation will I need? By the way, I'm married to a Thai lady and have 1 child.

Cheers

You can get a 1 year extension of stay from immigration if you can show an income of 40,000 baht a month or 400,000 in a bank account in Thailand. (Income can be from abroad). (It is a lot of work, but would be valid for one year and you could get a re-entry permit to keep your permission to stay alive).

A single non-O would not be a problem in any neighboring country, Laos and Kuala Lumpur will do fine. Normally they require you to take a copy of the marriage certificate, copy of wife's ID card, copy of household registration, copy of child's birth certificate and a small note from the misses asking for a visa for you would also be nice. Also a good idea to take your updated bank book or bank statement with you to show you have some money to live on.

great info thanks. One point though, you mentioned bank statements, is a UK bank statement OK?

It should not be asked for single entry but would be better than nothing if asked I am sure.

Sounds straightforward enough, thanks for taking the time to reply.
