Endless reruns of Ghetto Brawls and Americas Funniest Videos - worth a draft.

Great vocals by the lady in red - worth a couple more.

The Thai Elvis backed by The Ugly Brothers ending the evening with Hotel California - priceless. I really enjoy that guy.

For everything else there is Elite Card.

The last couple of times I was in there, I never noticed the "band". No female singer either.

It seems the only music I remember was the clanging of the bell and some waitress dropping a heavy tray on the floor with a loud clang !

Next time you are in there, check the names on the mirrors. Mine should be there about 6 times :o

Yeah, they had a little pinay crooner in there last time I was there in June.

She'll never be a Jo-well, but she sounds better than the Uglies!

Of course, a coyote in heat sounds better than the Ugly Brothers.... :o

Ben the manager has a nice group of music videos and blooper out-takes that are entertaining. Almost think they could make do with those and ditch the band IMO but that's just my thoughts.

the only time I ever went in there was several years ago - there was only 2 or 3 other farangs besides me in the place, and 30 or so girls sitting around looking bored. The "best rock band in Asia" as advertised was a flip duo with outdated play-at-home karaoke style drum machine and some past it old hag that couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. I had one drink, paid the tab and the waitress sneered at me for an "only" 20 baht tip. As I went to leave, three girls stood in my way at the door and said "why you not take girl? You gay?"

I've never been back.

Managers a good mate of mine and I ofter go in there with the wife for a drink.

Ugly brothers are ok (actually very talented musically). :D

We all know there can be only one. :D:o

I was in there at the end of April. Blew 45,000 baht in 2 nights and got the golf-shirts, lighters, towels and other souvieners to show for it !), and that doesn't count the money I spent to arrange a birthday party that I never even showed up for !

I hardly even noticed the band, just the 2 guys, no female singer. The TV showed the same show(s) over and over again. After awhile, I just ignored it.

Made Ben drink a "blow job" though (what a PRO !) :D

Like Merlin, I have only ever tried it once and was not impressed. It was early evening and the girls either ignored us or hastled us for drinks, we never went back. I must admit to hearing alot of good stories about it since though.

Where is it? On one of the Soi's on Beach, or off Walking Street.

Walking Street. Go past the Marine Bar (less than 100 meters). You'll see a large tree wrapped in ribbons on the right side of the street. The FLB is about 15 meters past that on the right-hand side.

In my case, it wasn't the girls hassling me for drinks, it was one of the mamsans. Soon as I would walk in, she'd line up 6 or 7 girls and have them sitting/standing around what ever table I was at.

The one night, I think I counted 12 girls around my table. Most not saying a word, just....standing there (I felt sorry for them actually, kind of hoping for more customers to come in to thin them out a bit).

It's an H ell of a life isn't Kerry :o Only joking. I know what you mean though, it can get on your nerves sometimes. However, when i come back to the UK it takes me all of..........5 seconds to miss it and wish the pubs where the same here :D

45,000baht in two nights? Not including the baht you shelled out for a party you didn't attend?(at least another 10k baht) Total USD in April of this year=a little over $1400.00.

Your are probably the biggest mark they clipped this year. Congratulations!

Yeah, could have bought one of those little motorcycles, new, for that much ! :D

Tell me about it. The only thing I can say in my defense is that, after spending 3+ months is this desert armpit of a place, I needed to unwind a bit. (on camp, we are limited to 2 beer per person/per day. Beer. No whiskey, vodka, rum, not even Bailey's Irish cream ! I don't drink beer, so as long as I'm here, no alcohol at all).

(Don't tell Ben, but the first night I went to the FLB, I had 50,000 in my pocket, and was expecting to spend the whole wad that night !) :o

Kerryd,

Stay safe in Afghanistan. Good luck to you.

Best regards.

What's the full name "FLB" ? And I also would like to know its location. After all--if someone can spend alot of money there, it can't be all that bad!

Free Landers bar :o

Sorry...Free Lancers Bar...not..... :o
