You cannot get them at the airport anymore, but they are available from both the new and the old office. At the old office you can also get them on Saturday mornings.

Does this include issuing of re entry permit for emergency travel at the airport?

Emergency issue at the airport should still be possible, but have so far only seen 2 reports of people being able to get them at the airport, on proof of the emergency.

It is not something you can count on to get at the airport, even with proof.

the old Sathorn office doesn't do them, I was there today. Only online visa takes 24 hours

I just went through the annual application for multiple re-entry permits... as of last Saturday (i.e., one never knows until one tries, which goes for everything here, anyway), 21 Aug 10, you can continue to apply and receive REPs on Saturday mornings only at the Suan Phlu office. No need for an electronic submission, and since the turn-around is 15-20 minutes I don't see what would be gained if they still did offer that option.

Download the TM-8; fill it out (I did mine by hand because I couldn't get Open Office to render the .doc form in an editable version, but the free MS Word viewer worked); attach your photo. Submit the form, your passport, and Bht3,800 (for one-year multiple)... and in a heart beat you will have your re-entries: in at 0905, out at 0920.

Equally fast service at Jaengwattana by a colleague at almost the same time last Monday (yesterday) morning... but an hour's drive, round trip -- the inbound traffic is still bad, that time of day.

PS -- I tried the "1111" government information number but could not get anywhere with my question about where and when to apply for re-entry permits.

One correction is that the multi re-entry is only valid for the current permitted to stay stamp time (not for one year) so if you only have 60 days remaining that would be the time it was valid for.

Monday traffic is always bad (and that goes back more than 30 years in my experience) - it is as if everyone loses the plot over the weekend and tries new shortcuts Monday and end up driving in circles.
