Hi all,

I know with all my years here I should have a better understanding of the ins and outs of visa options etc but so far I have been happy enough to just plod along and take each year as it comes. But it has now been 15 years with a Non B multiple visa and dozens and dozens of visa run trips. Don't mind the little 3 monthly trips but now would like to take these breaks when I want and go where I want(not always borders).

I have a work permit through my company however I am not the sole owner and not the signatory to the company. I have been declaring 30k for my income for years as never worried about inceasing my tax obligations here. My company has 2 work permits attached to it but officially we only employ 4 thai staff. I am not yet 50 so retirement is still a few years away. I have a child born to my Thai gf here but am no longer with the gf nor did we ever legally marry.

Is there anyway of me getting a 1 year extension of stay and still retain my work permit as I need to work to live. No external income available.

Would prefer not to have to pay an agent tens of thousands to sort it out for me as I understand they may be able to.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not without raising your income. In your case immigration wants to see a minimum income, which depends on your nationality. For most western countries the minimum amount to get a 1 year extension is an income of at least 50,000 a month.

If child is under 20, living with you and you are legally responsible it may also open family extension of stay at 400k in Thai bank account 2 months or income of 40k per month.
