90 Day Register

Featured Replies

Sent all details for 90 day bullshit by post 4th Aug.

Have to register on the 11th Aug.

Now 20th and nothing sent back by immigration.

Is this a big problem or do I just go to immigration office Monday and explain?

If it is a problem am I liable for 500 baht daily fine?

Getting a little concerned now. Is this a common problem anybody know?

Thanks.

It is still a little early to be worried. Sometimes it does take a while.

Have you got the receipt from the Post Office?

The worst case scenario would be a 2,000 Baht fine.

As I said to early to worry yet.

It is not normally processed until the date due and we have had several holidays and heavy rain so mail is likely to be slow - I would wait until end of next week before doing anything and then take your receipt for sending. Without receipt there would likely be a 2,000 baht fine (if you can avoid the vulgarities) (there is no 500 baht per day - that is for overstay of your visa entry).

OK Thanks very much.

I have a receipt so no problems there then.

Cheers.

Hope I can piggyback onto this thread. I was considering doing a 90 day report early, approx 2 weeks because I'm passing Immigration. Lopburi3 mentioned its not usually processed until due date. Will I be allowed to report early ?

I believe you can do it 1 week before the due date and 1 week after. 2 weeks early, I don't think so.

Normally not, but can't you do it by mail? Most immirgation offices allow it, and the law says you can do it by mail.

No probs, I was just passing. I'll do it by post nearer the time.

Believe you misread my post as I said it is processed on the due date for those using mail system so not to worry if it takes a bit of time to get receipt.

Normal in person or proxy service is plus/minus 7 days.

You sure? I'd like to see some official reference.

Is this official enough?:

And read what lopburi3 posted above.

Official references:

Section 37, point 5 of the Immigration Act, in Thai language. The website of the Immigration Bureau has a link to an English translation of the Immigration Act on this page.

Information on this web page of the Immigration Bureau:

"The notification must be made within 7 days before or after the period of 90 days expires."

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Thanks for the official websites, Mario.

Sorry I asked, but there are sometimes rumours floating around on ThaiVisa.

@metisdead: ThaiVisa is not an official reference.
