Traveling To Thailand Bangkok

Featured Replies

I Plan on traveling to bangkok on the 02 Sep for 20 days.

I will be stay at hostels traveling around, upto Chiang mai.

My main question is, is it safe to travel in Thailand and bangkok at the moment?

Also I plan on bringing a backpack which has no locks or anything.

Do I have to worry about drugs being put in my bag?

Cheers Yenrac

No worries at all, they might steal you jeans though.

Nothing much has changed here, it is still pretty safe, you will be unlikely to run into problems at the minute.

Just use plain old common sense, no matter what country you travel into.

You must have seen that movie where two women traveling in Thailand had a stash of drugs slipped into their bags and were caught.

It like that old saying who will you be hanging out with. if you hang with a drug crowd maybe you have drugs slipped in bag.

Thailand is very safe I was there during red shirt issue and never felt unsafe.

you always worry about your luggage no matter where you travel especially airports and train-bus stations and not just about thai people.just a small lock connecting the zipper is a big advantage especially when you check the bag or in your hotel room. always be safe -never be sorry. thailand is however a lot safer than most places i know.

The Sky is falling <_< , pesky Farangs inciting the red shirts to burn down Central World. :whistling: Totally unsafe, another nail in the coffin etc, etc

Hi Yenrac

Not unreasonable questions from a new visitor --- quite intelligent really.

My main question is, is it safe to travel in Thailand and bangkok at the moment? Yes -- probably a lot safer than your homeland.

Also I plan on bringing a backpack which has no locks or anything.

Do I have to worry about drugs being put in my bag? Short answer --- No! I've not heard of that being a problem here --- but you can attach a small lock as suggested above. Have a fun and safe trip.

C'mon Toady, he is asking what can be classed as a legitamate question if he didn't know the area.

You do, so in my opinion should be answered legitamatly by people who know.

Now I know you are showing signs of irony, however irony on those who know no different, has no legitamacy.
