Options For Staying Longer After My 90 Day "O Type" Non Immigrant Visa Expires - Please Help

Dear Forum Members,

I have read through a number of posts on this forum, but I was unable to find the answer to my exact question.

I would like to ask those with more experience in these matter please, as to what my options are for staying longer in Thailand after my 90 day "O Type" Non Immigrant Visa expires in about 10 days.

I run an online business in Australia, The USA and The U.K and I am paid abroad and then transfer enough funds to keep me going here each week.

I have rented a nice pad on the hillside in Patong beach and I am quite enjoying it here for now.

My visa expires in 10 days, so I was wondering what my options are?

Do I need to fly out of the country? To KL or similar and just come in on a 30 day deal every additional 30 days?

Or is there a way for me to perhaps gain another visa type that might give me 60 or 90 days?

I would be happy to apply for an E Visa later on and take on a Thai language course etc, but the long and the short of it is, I want to stay longer?

Any assistance would be most appreciated :jap:

P.S. I am an Australian Citizen and I am 40 years of age, if this effects any possible answers/visa options.

Thanking you in advance.

You do not seem to qualify for anything but an ED-visa or doing visa exempt entries as you suggested. Note that the Ed-visa is not just for langauge courses, you can study anything. The important thing is that the educational institution is recognsed and can help you with the ED-visa.

If you have a friend living in Thailand ask for a copy of his/her ID and a short note asking for a visa for you and the Thai consulte in Perth will give you a multiple entry non-O visa. Have to hurry, as Perth will close in October.

Thanks Mario,

Would I need to fly to Perth to do that or could I achieve this remotely from Asia?

Is there an official lsit of "recognised educational institutions" or a link already discussing these ED options and/or the "recognised educational institutions"?

The baht dropping is worrism to me now, may screw up my retirement extension plans financially, I was already ready to take some Thai language classes anyway since I will reside there longtime but the more options the more at ease I will feel prior to arriving in October...

TIA ...

For the OP there are visa runs to Burma for 1500 baht ± a few Bt round trip, funky little boat ride looks like fun takes all day tho and I'm not positive but I think it's only 30-day tourist stamp back into the LOS? Google "Phuket to Burma visa run" and many links pop up...

Land/sea entry is 15 days visa exempt for most.

A tourist visa can be obtained free of charge most places but will require an overnight stay.

Perth requires proof of current stay in Oz to issue visa.
