August 21, 201015 yr With XP, I used Real Player for video downloads. It could download YouTube OK, as well as erh..uhm..other popular sites, although occasionally the Real download button would disappear, or it would suddenly decide that it couldn't download from sites that it had previously managed well enough, and I had to re-install. Now I have a new computer with Windows 7 (64-bit), I would appreciate any reports on other free downloaders, hopefully more reliable, and certainly less bulky than Real Player. Thanks in advance for your usual helpful comments. Elwood
August 21, 201015 yr If you use Chrome and want to download Youtube videos, try this: http://unlockforus.blogspot.com/2008/09/directly-download-youtube-videos-in.html No need of third party software, just a new bookmarks you simply click on when on Youtube. The drawback is that sometimes it does not work any more when Youtube makes some changes, but they quickly come with a fix for it.
