plachon
I'm planning on sending a sizable quantity of books back to UK. All in all, they may weigh in the region of 25 kgs. I've sent books back by post before and sometimes they arrive intact and sometimes they arrive battered and bruised, especially if using the surface mail option. Just wondering if anyone has recent experience of sending books or documents abroad by other means (for example, courier service or via air freight?), and if so, what is your opinion, vis a vis snail mail, whether surface or air? And do you use the printed papers rate, or just regular air mail? Can printed papers rate parcels be sealed these days, or do they still insist on only tyong them up with string? whichever way, no doubt it is going to be an expensive exercise, but hearing some other's tips and experiences, may at least be useful in avoiding pitfalls.
