Media Criticise Award Winning Miss Thailand Performance

Miss Mexico, Jimena Navarrete, took out the coveted Miss Universe pageant 2010 in Los Angeles on Monday night, while the Thai contestant, Fonthip Watcharatrakul, was awarded with two prestigious titles at the glamorous event. Miss Thailand’s wins are a testament to her character and beauty as an overly critical Thai media lambasted her displays as “outstandingly lavish and highly inappropriate,” during the event.

United States, the 23rd of August 2010: Hosted by Poison star Bret Michaels and NBC correspondent Natalie Morales live from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Monday night, 84 beauties lined up in competition for the coveted 59th Miss Universe title. The event included a performance from R&B star John Legend, while judges at the special night included Criss Angel, Evan Lysacek, Chynna Phillips and Jane Seymour.

Following the completion of two ‘super-sexy’ swimsuit and evening dress events, the field was whittled down to 5 contestants all vying for the prestigious title of Miss Universe 2010. In the end, it was the suitably gorgeous Miss Mexico contestant, Jimena Navarrete [22], who took the title ahead of main rivals Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps [24], Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell [19], Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska [23] and Miss Philippines Venus Raj [22] who finished second to fifth in respective order.

I wonder how many of those contestants Bret Michaels personally visited in the back room.

I have no doubt the Bob Barker holds that title. According to lawsuits, he used to require "The Price is Right" models to sleep with him to keep their jobs. It's fairly well known he bedded most of the showcase showgirls. Yet he is still classy!! 86 and going strong!!

Lets face it, In Thailand lots of men have many mistreses and the counrty has some of the most

open and sleasy red light districts in the world and are famous internationally for it. Despite all of

this the media bang on about some quite innocent performances by a beauty contestant.

Sorry to you guys living in Thailand but the place is a bit of a sad joke really.

Prize for Best National costume? From the photo I'd say based on what recent historical movies may have suggested. In reality didn't ladies at court here walk around bare breasted two - three hundred years ago?

But Bret Micheal and Cris Angel? Wow this event has gone downhill. That is as bad as when Jerry Springer and Mario Lopez hosted. I miss the days of Bob Barker and Dick Clark.

You are wrong, Bret is having his second 15 minutes of fame, winning The Apprentice, having a stroke, performing in last season's American Idol finale, recently performing on America's Got Talent, and generally having a big buzz around him. All that because of one mediocre hair band song from the 80s. But he is "hot" at the moment.

Cris angel just opened a new show with Circe Du Soleil in Vegas, he was also just on America's Got Talent.

The way the media works....
