Hello all. I have flown this route a few times but right now it seems crazy expensive.... Expedia is showing around $2500 return. Last time I flew in Feb it was $1300. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better place to look for this flight?

I have been quoted by an agency in BKK 48,000 THB so thats not too bad..... But the route is hel_l. Its BKK >> Taiwan >> Los Angeles >> Chicago >> Fort Lauderdale. It amazes me that the flights always go that way - why cant they simply fly to South Africa or Europe and then onto Miami? It would shave hours off the journey

Many thanks

You do not say when you are flying ... UAL (to Orlando) for next spring looks much better that that ... Else, if looking for lowest price option, I would try to get the lowest fare BKK to LAX and then Southwest or someone (Spirit LAX to FLL) LAX to Miami / FLL..

Thanks Jazzbo. Yah you are right - a date would help lol. I am looking at flying in the next 7-10 days. I just checked BKK >> LAX return is showing as $3000 non stop for a departure in the next couple weeks.

Wouldn't it be quicker to fly to the east coast instead of the west coast? Last time I was in FL I flew back via JFK and SQ. Singaporeair.com/th is having some sort of sale right now, but it's still not cheap.

I use http://www.travelzoo.com it allows me to search all the major search engine at the same time and compare. I did a search for Miami to BKK departing Sept. 2 and because you did not say when you wanted to return I chose sept 29 for the return date ,

I found,

at Airfare.comUnited Airlines | View Details$799 base + $358 tax = $1157 total

at chepoair.com $1,041 [Total Incl. fees excl. taxes ]

please excused my cut and paste

Good luck

You are right, my bad, I should have read a little more careful.

any way.

not all , but most flight search websites would allow you to purchase Bkk to Mia, I did a quick search but I changed the start date to sept 9 th because you need a few days advance purchase and found a flight from BKK to MIA on both Expedia and Kayak on delta airline for about $ 1300,

I fly to BKK at least 2 times a year and I always look for the best deal in airfare, there use to be a few good consolidators I used in the past., but with the new airline business environment they have all disappeared, at least their deals have disappeared..

now it seems that the best deals are in the major websites, some times individual airlines have some good deals, and it pays to check these out.

I am always interested in finding a better way to find a good airfare, if anyone knows of a better place to purchase airfare to Thailand I would be interested to know, ,

I fly back and forth to Vegas 2-3 times a year. Have been doing this for quite a few years. Sometimes, I get the best deal from an internet site. Other times, the airlines have the best price. If you do find a great deal on the internet, don't forget to check with the airlines also. If you have problems, it is MUCH easier to get things sorted out if you got the ticket directly, rather than via some obscure website. But, if there is a big enough price difference, go for it!

We just got tickets to Vegas for over Xmas and the best deal I got was via Delta. Sign up for various email alerts (Bing, etc). Works great for me!
