Chalongian
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me where is the cheapest place to eat fresh seafood on the island? It dosent seem particularly cheap anywhere and I don't wanna cook it myself! Really fancy some lobster right now. Also where is considered the best or most popular seafood restraunt by Thai people on Phuket?

Chalongian
Nice one, I've never eaten in those places at Palai, I forgot they were even there. I'll try them as soon as I get back.
amyb
come down to rawai. park your bike at the pier and go left into the sea gypsy village...there's a cute little restaurant that cooks up seafood for cheap. plus, you get a taste of local life. scenery isn't too bad either! ilyelol
phuket town has the cheapest and freshest sea food. There's a restaurant 5mins south of boat lagoon, but you have to take lots of small roads, then a boat.. they picck your sea food directly from pits IN the sea. Also one in the middle of nowhere (couple tour bus stops there, and tons of local thais) with sea and mountain view.. cheapest ive had anywhere in thailand.. highquality cooking

ilyelol
from ptown's roundabout near robinson, drive toward the monkey mountain, just before going up the mountain turn right instead. keep going straight... you'll see 2 5 storey weird house in construction or destruction.. turn on that road (right) you'll pass a new supalai moobaan.. 5mins drive up the hills and you'll have it on your right.. PhuketBlogger
I think people are variously referring to... Laem Hin Seafood.. very popular with locals, no SO easy to get to .. am I allowed to post a link? Ah, here goes: http://jamie-monk.blogspot.com/2010/05/laem-hin-seafood-still-favourite.html - and there is a link on the page which will open Google Earth (if you have it installed) and show the location. From Laem Hin you can get boats over to floating restaurants like Kru Suwit Seafood which are next to Koh Maphrao. Also good and cheap, and I think this is the one being described by ilyelol, Pak Nam Seafood: http://jamie-monk.blogspot.com/2008/05/restaurant-tips-pak-nam-seafood.html
