Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I arrived in Thailand on Aug 21, 2010 and intend to leave the country on Sept 19, 2010. Being a Singaporean, I can be in Thailand as a tourist for 30 days. Technically speaking, do I have to get out of Thailand by Sept 19 midnight???

You have to leave before the end of the date indicated in your passport but less that 24 hours overstay would not involve a fine.

It will say on the entry stamp in your passport how long you are permitted to stay.

If you arrived without a visa on August 21st, the entry stamp should state that you are allowed to stay until the 20th of September.

You should leave Thailand at or before midnight of the day stated.

The 19th actually.

Gotcha.

The departure immigration card has only my arrival date stamped on it so I thought I'd check.

Cheers, guys

You are correct Lite Beer. I forgot that they count the arrival day as day 1.

Muse74, there is an entry stamp in your passport, immigration don't always stamp the departure card.

However looks like you've got it figured out.

Blimey! MTH, you are so right. Sept 19 is indicated on my passport and I failed to see it! Cheers...

Can you still get a 2 week extension form immigration in Pattaya beyond the initial 30 days?

No. It was standardized at 7 days some years ago.
