Visa Cost

Featured Replies

Can anybody tell me what the price of a multiple entry visa is if i go to Malaysia to do it? Thats how much for the Thai visa plus how much for the privilege of crossing into Malaysia?I am trying to work out if it is worth paying good money for 60 days when I can go to Ranong and after paying the nominal Burmese visa cost, get a free tourist visa for Thailand. OK, so I've got to repeat the whole process again in 30 days but it would seem a lot cheaper.

Oh! and what on earth is the Thai governments logic, that it has made visas so expensive to extend here? Only a crazy person would pay Thailand 1.900 Baht to stay when a quick and cheap trip to Burma gives you the same amount of time. Who benefits from this? Certainly not Thailand.

Officialdom is changing....too many 30 day visa's and you won't get back into Thailandf on a wanderers basis. Your risk if you persist.

You never did say what your nationality was...nor your location.

I'm British and currently live in Chumpon, about 2 hours from Ranong by minibus, but a long way from Malaysia.

Hotpot, There are still a load of people doing the Phuket/Ranong visa runs everyday.

The Ranong option is a lot less bother than going to Penang, and a lot cheaper.

Use it whilst you can, there are certainly changes on the way.

When you go to Ranong ask the officers what they think, I chatted with them a couple of months ago and they didn't seem too bothered.
