Nexus One Stolen

Featured Replies

Had my Nexus One stolen today. :crying:

Now I can't imagine there are many Google Nexus One's in Pattaya, in fact a check today at Tukows came up with none.

I'll be going back again tomorrow for another look.

If any TV members happen to see a used Nexus One in any of the local shops with the serial number HT9CRP801799 then it's MINE and I'll be very grateful if anyone sends a DM to let me know where it is.

Yes, I have tried calling the phone but it's been turned off since it was stolen.

Get it blocked, you have the information. Phone your ISP provider

Of course it's been turned off. The new owner has probably put their SIM card in it and are enjoying their newfound asset. Likely that whoever has "found" your phone would probably pawn their old phone and be enjoying their upgrade.

Going to dtac and having the SIM turned off was the second thing I did after completing the appropriate police reports.

However the service provided at dtac Big C Pattaya South was appalling - a supervisor chatting with two other staff and ignoring waiting customers for 20 minutes, a woman who eventually provided service stating that my SIM card wasn't registered in my name "it takes six months to register a SIM card in someone's name".

The lack of registration also meant it's impossible to track any activity of the phone.

All I can say is it must be a very complex internal process for dtac if they need 6 months to register a SIM car in the owners name.

In the meantime, back to Tukow's today.

1) was this a prepaid SIM?

2) May I ask how the phone was 'stolen'?

I'd try DTAC at Carrefour, locked my phone out last week they went onto their computer for the PUK number, fixed in a flash

It's more important to know WHERE the phone was stolen.

Visit the nearest phone shops and pawn shops.

I'm not sure about the current technology, but maybe it is possible to track your phone down with the help of the EIMI number. (see manual).

There you need the help of the manufacturer of the phone. (maybe I watched to much "Wire")

If it's your average Somchai who found/stole it, he probably didn't realize what he got and pawned it.

Tucows? Did you mean Tukcom?

Agree, try DTAC in Carrefour, they're usually quite helpful.

I know it's late to close the door once the horse had gone, but maybe others can benefit from this. There are several "anti theft" applications available for Android. They generally work without needing sim as long as there is any wifi connection, allow the owner to take photos, listen, make the phone "scream" (alarm), use the GPS to locate the phone and other things.

For example: "Track and Protect", "WaveSecure", "Find my Phone", "Prey Phone Tracker" and others.

If you see me playing with what looks like your phone...it isn't...it's an HTC Desire and I'll sell it to you for B 25k ;)

^ 25k ... wow that was a bit expensive considering you can buy a new one for under 20k :)

so... how did your phone get stolen?
