cheap plastic lenses may have uv protection but will distort your view.

better quality plastic also distorts in my opinion but less so.

the frames of the more expensive models is better quality acetate.

then there is the added advantage of wearing sunglasses with the designer logo showing on the side when you are photographed at a celebrity funeral.
