September 6, 201015 yr The Smile House in the Fishermans Village, Bophut seems to me to be exactly what you are looking for. Good resort - but not a great beach. Also, Bophut is a bit more expensive restaurant wise. Aimed at tourist families. I usually recommend Choeng Mon beach. Great beach and good resorts/restaurants. More cheap Thai places to eat and a wide range of sea food places. Resorts - try Choeng Mon Bungalows. Probably has most thing.
September 7, 201015 yr ok if you want busy busy look towards chaweng, if you want somwhere a little more relaxed, try the mermaid resort in Bangrak, they have sea view rooms with good facilities, a swiming pool, 24 hour restaurant. don't use the internet to book as walk in prices are always cheaper, a nice sea view room is about 1400 baht but if your staying more than a few days they often haggle. Its a nice place, right on the beach and good food but something FREE ?

September 10, 201015 yr To be honest it would help if the OP had some idea as to what kind of area he/she wanted to stay. Samui has many types of beach resorts. Some more ideas Here
