September 10, 201015 yr Hi, all. The dates on my tourist visa are confusing... I sent off to the Thai Consolate in L.A., CA, USA before coming to Thailand. The date of my (dual entry) TV is 30 July 2010. I was under the impression I had only 60 days from then to get a 30-day extension or exit and come back. However, at the aiport on 31 Aug 2010 I was given a stamp saying Visa Class TR, Admitted 31 Aug 2010, Until 29 Oct 2010. So... when do I need to pay the B1900 for a 30-day extension? Can I do that in Pattaya? Cheers from the newbie at expat living...
September 10, 201015 yr You have a Tourist Visa, it allows you to enter for 60 days upon each entry. If you want to apply for an extension go to an immigration office a few days before October 29, you won't lose any days. If you want to use the second entry, simply leave Thailand and return for another 60 day entry. The second entry must be made, by the visa expiration(use by) date, that would most likely be 3 months or 6 months from the issue date. Edited September 10, 201015 yr by beechguy
September 10, 201015 yr Date of issue is date the visa was processed by the Consulate. Use before date is the date that all entries must have been used or they will be lost. Permitted to stay on entry is 60 days for your tourist visa as long as entry is made between the above two dates. You can extend your stay 30 day but remember you must use the second entry before the expiration date on the visa or it will be lost. As long as you enter before then you will get another 60 day stay that can also be extended 30 days. The immigration office for Pattay is located on Jomtien Beach (believe it is Soi 5).
September 10, 201015 yr Go to immigrations a week before the stamp expires. You don't loose any days, the extension is given from the expire date anyway.
