Confirm Job For Non-O

Featured Replies

Dear All,

time goes by, I need to update my non-O in January again. Last time I've got the update based on a confirmation of my German Embassy I get money from Germany/German company.

This time I have a contract with Indonesian Company. I even pay tax in Indonesia :annoyed:.

So question is: any chance, the German Embassy will confirm my income? Contract is in English and Bahasa and stamped by authority.

I really do not like to go for the 400'000 THB option given the f*cking current fx-rate. But in case: What exactly the 3 month rule says in case my visa i due on 13th Jan. 2011? Money have to be on the Thai account since 2010-10-1 or since 2010-10-13? What happens if some days are missing?

Thank you and best regards!

Just a note, maybe you typed wrong, the requirement is at least 3 months prior to renewal of 800,000 baht on deposit, NOT 400,000 or of course your embassy verification of income of not less than 65,000 baht. I don't see why the embassy would not give you your "notarized"

declaration of income, but always best to check in with them. Good luck!

Yes, when the income is from Indonesia the German embassy should certify it. But best check with them first, as they decide what they will accept as proof of income. English documents should be accpeted by them.

if you need to season the money, based on marraige the requirement is 2 months, and it would be the 13th. Note that some immigration offices require 3 months after the first extension of stay based on marriage.

When married to a Thai (or having a Thai child) you can always get a 60 day extension of stay and after that get a 1 year extension of stay.

And yes, the amount for Thai wife extension of stay is 400k.

Not 100% sure but you may be able to hold the 400k/800k in foreign currency as long as it is in a Thai Bank.

Woha! You shock me! :o

It think it is 400'000 THB as my income has to be 40'000 per month (at least had to be last year). In order to clarify: I am German married with Thai wife having German/Thai daughter. So please confirm definitely the necessary amount. It will be difficult/expensive to transfer 25'000 EUR in such a short time!

Best regards and thanks!

Thank you so much for clarification and kind answer.

So I misunderstood reading the row related to Thai wife? But why a Thai wife has to extend?

How much do I need in case I (German, married with Thai wife having Thai kid) would to extend? Whoa, I feel sick now.

Thanks for the hint.

I asked for Gold-depot, but it was denied. So I doubt FX is possible as it is much more volatile these days.

No, not your wife has to extend. She doesn't need a visa or extension of stay for Thailand. It is you that extends, based on having a Thai wife. YOU have to show an incoem of 40,000 a month or 400,000 in a bankaccount in your name in Thailand for that.

Mario, thanks so much for that clarification. I just was shocked a second reading about 800'000 THB.

Of course you are right, extension for Thai wife makes no sense -- but what makes sense these days. I just feared to misinterpret something. 400k/40k is what I knew before and no problem of course.

I e-mailed the German embassy already. Will keep the thread updated on their answer.

You saved my day!

The best!

Please be more careful not to give wrong advice, especially when the original information was clear. You gave me a hard minute! Nevertheless thank you for good intention.

Best regards

I think the money needs to be in the bank the 2 or 3 months prior to applying for an extension, not from the expiration date.

Since most folks apply up to 30 days before the expiration, it can make a big difference in the date the money needs to be in the account.

If using income from Indonesia and have it certified by the German embassy (if they do so) check your taxation status first.

Does Germany and Indonesia have a double taxation agreement? What are the rules now for Germans having income abroad? etc.

Now Germany does not know about your income and they probably don't care but if you want them to certify it you rub their nose into this fact!

I ran afoul of the German tax rules when I worked in Saudi Arabia but that was in 1983/84

Double post deleted!

Why do they post double sometimes?

Well, I think my example was very clear about this.

Germany-Indonesia have double-taxation agreement, but I have no residence in Germany, so why should I pay tax there? The only person who might have an interest here are the Thais. But as I do not stay here more than 180 days I am not taxable in Thailand too.

Regards und viele Grüße!

Very sorry for the trouble! You only said Non-O and I was unaware of Thai wife. My apologies!

Today the German embassy replied my e-mail and wrote: no problem, just jump in.

So perhaps I have luck another time.

Best regards and thanks to everybody
