What Visa Can I Apply Fot ?

Looking for visa advice.

I currently have a non immigrant 'B' visa issued in September 2007 & have hat two consecutive one year extensions issued by the Thailand Board Of Investment. I will not be looking for a further extension.

My current extension expires on the 30th of November 2010. I am planning to make a UK settlement visa for my wife around the end of October.

I believe the application time can take up to 4 months.

I would like another visa so that I can spend the time sorting out all documentation for the UK visa for my wife & we could both travel to the UK together.

My questions are

What visa can I apply for that would give me a maximum of 6 months ? ( none immigrant 'O' multi entry ? )

Where can I apply for a visa ?

If I was to go to Savanaket in Laos or Kapchong in Cambodia can a visa be obtained there ?

Advice from anyone who has obtained a visa down this route will be greatly appreciated.

If your wife is Thai you can apply for an extension of stay for one year based on your wife if you have an income of 40,000 baht a month OR have 400,000 in a bank account in your name in Thailand.

Since you only need 6 months, you might want to consider getting a double entry tourist visa from Vientianne, Laos. Each entry would be good for 60 days and can be extended for another 30 days. Might be less work than an extension based on marriage, as that one requires a lot of paperwork and you get only 30 days after which you go to immigration again to get the rest of the year.

Kuala Lumphur is the only one in the region that will provide a multiple non-O, provided you can show at least 100,000 in a bank account.

If over 50 you would have the option of an extension of stay based on retirement. Easy to do.
