Can I Do This On A 30-Day Permission To Stay?

UK resident/UK passport ... When visiting Thailand later this year, I am heading to Malaysia for a few days mid-trip, flying BKK-KUL-BKK. Total length of my trip is less than 30 days UK to UK. Am I OK just using the 30-day waiver/permission to stay to enter Thailand twice within a 10 days or so, or would that need the expense of a multi-entry visa? TIA.

No problems at all doing what you are planning.

Enter Thailand you get 30 days, leave to Malaysia you get 90, re-enter Thailand you get a new 30 days from that date.

For that trip a visa is neither necessary nor worth the effort.

Since you are flying in and have proof of leaving within 30 days in the form of a ticket no visa is required.
