Iphone 4 And Thai Ppls

Featured Replies

the last few days , alot of iPhone 4 news , promotion , online order blah blah

is it just thai ppls or everywhere else so alert about this ? my brother , friends , colleagues in office all just talking abt this and were in the longggggggggggggggggg que for it

abit tired of it already

how come thai ppls so inlove and being so big fan of apple ? since when ?

it is just only me who feel this way :bah:

Some people just have to have the latest and greatest. Even when the infrastructure does not support or warrant the product.

lol , Vietnam soon jump to 4G ,

thailand already failed for the 3G .. just that !

Because the iphone is trendy right now and all the hi-so children are sporting one so everyone wants to hop on the bandwagon. It's funny because Thais spend a lot of money (paying 50% mark up in some cases) for U.S. products that are pretty common items.

is it just thai ppls or everywhere else so alert about this ?

No, it's pretty much everyone everywhere. Am constantly amazed how much people are willing to spend on phones. Makes me feel like a luddite sometimes with my 5 year old Nokia

It became there live,

Good marketing

No worries about your Nokia within now and 200 years your telephone is become a collectors item:) Just wait.

NFS

Acolytes in China waited in line for 60 hours to buy Apple iPads.

It's not just I-phones, it's anything with a 'Designer Label' on it.

A nation of Chavs.

Iphone is a good product and is popular around the world.... no idea why people are trying to ignore this or pretend its not true. HOWEVER it is strange the way Thai people will spend more than they can afford on phones. But... Im guilty of that too, been low on money before but still buy an expensive gadget I want.... not smart but I cant help myself sometimes.

The thing is that Thai Ppl. even don't fully understand the IPhone 4 or 3g.

For them it is important to have YouTube and Facebook 24/7 in there pocket.

Best Regards, :jap:

What like Polo and Lacoste shirts in the US? Oh wait, that's a 250+ % markup! (500% if its fake)

Other high markup things in the US I can't quite put a number on... food in general, taxes, strippers...

I saw a very good example of I-Phone mania today in Starbucks (Central Chitlom).

A young Thai woman holding her new I-phone in her hand about half way across the table she was sitting at, her hand tilted forward (ie the screen facing out to everyone else not back towards herself so that she might read it).

Every time anyone walked past her table she shuffled her new found toy between her hands - again the screen facing outwards.

She might as well have had a big sign up saying "Look at me - I've got a new I-Phone".

Some people need to have the latest toy to give their life meaning.

imho there are too many creepy farang hanging around Starbucks pretending to read the newspaper but instead are just ogling all the young Thai Chinese university students. :whistling:

As an apple stock holder, I would recommend that you purchase one for everyone in your family. Also, please purchase your wife a Hermes bag. Keep drinking Starbucks. Thank God for Asia. :jap:

Well it worked with you, you're even mentioning her on an internet forum. biggrin.gif

Lets face it, people are people all over the world, we all like nice things, I'll bet she was well chuffed with her iPhone, good luck to her.;

It's no different to me sitting on an aircraft with my Bose Noise cancelling Headphones on, some people will think I'm being flash, but I cant help it if they are expensive to the average Joe, I get mine for free, I would never pay that type of money myself, but if I had paid for them, I'd be well pleased, cos they're good even if way overpriced.

People pay a lot for the ' Bose' name.

'Bose'? did you say 'Bose'?

Dammit I was ripped off! Mine say 'Bosc'. The guy even let me try them on at the shop and demonstrated how they canceled noise by talking to me—I saw his mouth move but didn't hear a word. I was impressed and paid him right-away.

I think there are too many creepy crawlies in Starbucks because people keep spilling the sugar while they pretend to read the paper or ogle at other people's iPhones.

siam square is like ground zero for bar girls

Bosc, I have never seen them, if they work and you're happy, then that's great.

Bose Noise cancelling headphones are expensive, but they are also very good. People pay not only for the name, they also pay for the R&D that has gone into making a top class product.

I'd never fly without them. smile.gif

GH may have been interpreting the scene correctly, but IMO a lot of cases of people who think that other people 'showing off' is just people taking their own feelings and attitudes trying to attach them to other people's lives. It's all relative.
