One-two-go

The refurbishment of this airline continues. Never flown them but recent reports on the net say that the interiors of the B747s have been seriously upgraded.

The name Orient Thai seems to have been dropped in favour of One-Two-Go brand.

The really really old B747-100s have gone leaving the really old B747-200s and solitary 300. 4 MD-80s have been bought from Continental. They will go onto the Ubon and Surat routes with Udon and Nakhon Si Thammerat to follow. The B757s are still there.

Reported to be starting a service to Copenhagen this winter possibly with an ex-Singapore B747-400 which is in storage in the US.

I think if Phuket Air and 1-2-Go merged and formed an aircraft museum they (And the flying public) would be better off.

My favorite airline for the CNX-BKK trip. Do get my ticket the day before if a connecting flight overseas is involved.

I did spend eight hours in Don Muang a week before Songran this year when I cut my return to CNX to close as every flight on every airline was booked solid until late night.

You can buy tickets in travel agencies, at least one I did it in in Silom to avoid risk of a "One-Two-No Go" experience.

REFURBISHMENT???? Interesting choice of words. Wonder where they will get the pilots for the MD80's. A couple were hired with no experience in the aircraft almost quite literally as they passed through Bangkok. Their Chief Pilot resigned the first day on the job because of the shoddy conditions and pisspoor management and probably a myriad of other reasons. Their pilots pay were drastically cut and work conditions worsened dramatically - I am told that they rarely get more than a day off a week.

Any one of these events would scare me off. This is one airline that needs FAR more than a supposed REFURBISHMENT. :o

Flew with 1-2-Go to phuket once... and only once. Didn't use the return portion of the ticket because I was so unimpressed with the aircraft. Flew hone to BKK with Thai.

The aircraft need replacement, not refurbishment. As grandfather used to say, "You can't polish a turd." :o

Its no coincidence that Don Muang is twinned with Duxford in the UK. I would imagine that the MD80 pilots, just like the aircraft, will have come out of storage in Arizona. Lets not forget that Thai Inter are using a large number of A300s that are between 15-20 years old. Thailand is the hub of classic aircraft.

Your grandfather was very wise! :D

I think they don't even try to polish these turds!
