I saw the post here regarding Music licenses and would like to know about TV, what license does a bar need to hold to show TV, Sports etc from both Thai and international sources as well as DVD. Is it licensed on a per seat basis on the establishment?

Showing cable TV programs in a bar/restaurant in Thailand does not require a license. Cable provider True Visions (http://www.truevisio...t=1286435749582 ) says that such venues do not pay additional fees but they do usually pay a higher rate than residential cable users because they often have many more TVs and multiple boxes to show different programming at the same time. True Visions charges additional installation and monthly rates for each additional cable box you use. Bars/Restaurants that show copyrighted movies do need a license (See http://www.wlu.edu/x36055.xml and http://www.mplc.com/umbrella.php) . It is not legal to use a satellite dish with "pirated" content either in your home or place of business.*
