DENVER, COLORADO (BNO NEWS) – Gary Faulkner, the man who attempted to hunt and kill Osama Bin Laden, on Tuesday was arrested on assault and domestic charges in Clear Creek County, officials said on Wednesday.

Officers of the Colorado State Patrol made the arrest after a blue Ford Explorer ran off the right side of the North Spring Gulch Road and crashed. Troopers determined that the driver, Jennifer Logie-Oliver, 51, was under the influence of alcohol.

She also had some injuries that the law enforcement agents considered were inconsistent with the accident. After subsequent investigation, the troopers arrested Faulkner, the passenger in the vehicle.

Both were taken to the county jail and booked. Faulkner was charged with third-degree assault and domestic violence. Local authorities denied releasing further details on the charges as the investigation is ongoing.

Faulkner, 51, gained media attention after he was detained in a forest in the Brumboret Valley near the border of the Nuristan province in Afghanistan on June 13. He claimed to be on a solo mission to hunt and kill Osama bin Laden.

The Denver resident was arrested in possession of a 40-inch sword, a Chinese pistol, a dagger and night vision goggles. Faulkner said that 9/11 caused colossal losses to the United States, so he wanted to locate Osama bin Laden and decapitate him.

Faulkner claimed to be a patriot American citizen. Pakistani authorities released him on June 24 and deported him to the United States. He has criminal record and served prison time in Colorado State.
